Canberrans urged to get behind the Diversity online campaign

Muhammed Ali, Founder and President of Aussie Forum and champion of the ACT Human Rights and Discrimination Commission’s, ‘Diversity Goes with Our Territory’ campaign has urged all Canberrans to spread messages of inclusion, acceptance and multiculturalism.

Red Cross Appreciates Forum Australia Efforts

Certificate of appreciation

In January 2016, the Australian Red Cross gave Forum Australia a Certificate of Appreciation for “…appreciation of your significant contribution to the 2015 Red Cross Food Drive. Your efforts have helped brighten the festive season for local Canberrans experiencing homelessness and those seeking asylum.”, in recognition of the clothes and other items donated to Red Cross.

Aussie Forum President wins ACT 2015 Outstanding Multicultural Volunteer Award

The President of Aussie Forum has won the 2015 ACT Outstanding Multicultural Volunteer of the Year Award.

Mohammed Ali, who has been the driving force behind Aussie Forum, received the award from Yvette Berry at the ACT Multicultural Awards ceremony held in the Theo Notaras Multicultural centre in Civic Canberra this morning.

Also Jeeven Nadanakumar, a speaker at the Mixed Up! Forum earlier this year, was named Multicultural Young Person of the Year

This years awards also marked the 10th Anniversary of the Theo Notaras Centre and coincidentally the 10th Anniversary of Aussie Forum.
